CWU Law School Holds Symposium on Career Development

 February 7, 2017

The Law School of China Women's University (CWU) recently held a symposium on female graduates' career development.

The organizers invited Wang Congying, a Beijing policewoman, to lecture at the event. Teachers and students from CWU's North Campus also attended.

During the seminar, Wang shared her experiences in fighting crime and protecting citizens. In 2008, she volunteered for the Beijing anti-terrorist squad and dedicated herself to tracking down fleeing criminals, and fighting against child abduction and women trafficking.

Afterward, Wang explained several topics that attracted students' special attention and pointed out that college students should set clear goals, establish correct outlook on life, recognize the importance of self-discipline, seize opportunities and make the right choices.

Wang took on the responsibilities of a policewoman and incorporated her professional knowledge into her daily work, she said. Her bravery, wisdom and high sense of social responsibility impressed many participants, reported organizers.

Wang graduated from the Law School of China Women's Executive Leadership Academy, the predecessor of CWU, in 1993 and joined the police force the same year.

Since, Wang has captured 279 suspects and won multiple prizes. She also won the title of Beijing Municipal March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter; Beijing Advanced Party Member; National Outstanding Police; and, Most Beautiful Grassroots Policewomen.

As one of CWU's alumni, Wang is the pride of the university, said staff. Organizers hoped that Wang's speech could have positive impact on undergraduates and encourage them to devote further efforts to grassroots construction.
