Students from the School of Culture and Communication at China Women's University (CWU) served as reporters during the fifth session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) and the fifth session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) (hereafter referred to as the "Two Sessions").

Shi Xinliang, a student from the university's Broadcasting and Hosting Department, interned with the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League in March, 2017. Shi participated in several recording programs of talking and interviewed members of the CPPCC National Committee and deputies to the NPC.

As a journalist-to-be, Shi said it is a rare opportunity to work as a reporter at the "Two Sessions". The experience not only improved her political awareness and professional skills, but also deepened her understanding towards the two sessions' spirits, Shi added.

CWU's Broadcasting and Hosting Department is committed to developing students' editing and broadcasting capacity, cultivating their news sensitivity and improving their abilities in cultural transmission and social practices.
