The Department for Women's Rights and Interests of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) appointed China Women's University (CWU) as one of its consultant units for women and children's rights protection on March 16.

During the ceremony, Tan passed the plaque of the consultant unit to Li Mingshun, chairperson of CWU Council. It is a great honor of the university to get the title, CWU will continue to play a connecting role, working with the ACWF and women's federations at all levels, serving women and children, and forming distinctive management characteristics, Li said.
Some 10 teachers from the Women's Studies Faculty, Law School and Social Work School participated in the event, together with directors from CWU's Scientific Research Management Office. The attendees introduced their efforts and achievements in legislation on women and children's rights, law popularization, scientific research and rights protection.
Those teachers in attendance exchanged opinions with teachers on how to enhance the ACWF's participation in social affairs and how to mobilize women's organizations.
Tan fully affirmed CWU's accomplishments in protecting women and children's rights and interests. She hoped the university could grasp the overall situation, identify priority areas for cooperation with the ACWF and serve women's cause in accordance with the requirements of the ACWF.
The university should also focus on the key points and difficulties of women and children's work, actively explore the all-round rights protection model, make full use of its academic advantages and strive to build itself into a first class women's university, Tan added.
