CWU Holds Training Course for Belt and Road Forum

China Women's University (CWU) held a training course for volunteers who are participating in the upcoming Belt and Road Initiative in May.

The Youth League Committee of CWU invited Xia Haiquan and Sun Jianqiu, professors from the University of International Business and Economics, to give lectures on "Interpersonal Skill and International Etiquette in Cross-Cultural Communication" and "Notices in English Expression".

Xia introduced the four principles of diplomatic rituals, including the right to life, freedom, social status sorting and privacy. Combined with his years of experiences concerning foreign affairs, Xia gave some vivid examples, communicated with the participants and created a lively and engaging atmosphere.

Professor Sun prepared training materials carefully for the volunteers and taught the attendees how to use formal English colloquialism, imperative communicative style and body language. He also shared his experiences as an interpreter and made students realize the importance of formal English styles.
