CWU Holds Double Choice Job Fair for 2017 Graduates
China Women's University (CWU) held a Double Choice Job Fair for graduates and employers on campus in April.
Some 160 employers applied for participation and 60 enterprises were selected to attend, including China Everbright Bank, New Oriental, Disney English, Decathlon Group, and Beijing Capital Land.
These enterprises covered the internet sector, real estate, education, finance, culture and the media industry, and were prepared to potentially employ more than 1,000 graduates. After the fair, a total of 700 resumes were submitted, and 300 of the graduates received tentative offers.
CWU Vice-President Wang Lian, officials from the Enrollment and Employment Office and relevant teachers from different schools and departments attended the event.
Wang communicated with employers, identified their demands and expectations, and put forward several requirements to obtain more high quality information and track CWU graduates' employment.
The organizers broadcast the event online so that students who could not attend and graduates in other colleges could get real-time information.
During a live webcast interview, Wang put forward some suggestions and requirements for the college students and called on more students to participate in the job fair. Wang hoped that students could learn from practical experiences and make early preparations for the future.
Wang analyzed the labor trends in 2017, introduced the university's efforts in promoting the employment rate and answered students' questions towards the activity.
In order to provide better services for graduates, organizers set up an inquiry desk for resume advice and protocol guidance. Before the event, CWU's Entrepreneurship and Employment Guidance Center integrated almost 1000 employment details from 80 other companies, and printed a publication with specific job descriptions. It also published graduates' skills online so that companies could instantly get in touch.
In future, CWU will continue to strengthen its cooperation with enterprises, keep tracking the important ones and further develop students' all-round skills, organizers said.
