CWU Holds 24th Talk in 'A Date with a President' Series

The 24th "Listening to Your Heart, Talking about Growth: A Date with a President" was held at Shuiyu café in March. Liu Liqun, president of China Women's University (CWU), had conversations with 10 students from different schools and departments.

During the event, Liu carefully listened to students' opinions on campus construction, curriculum arrangement and infrastructure maintenance. Based on the university's situation, Liu promised to communicate with relative functional departments, and meet teachers' and students' demands as far as possible. 

Touching on the upcoming graduation, Liu said everyone will go through the period of confusion. She hoped that students could set clear goals and strive to achieve them when they decide to become postgraduate students or find jobs. 

Liu also explained several topics that attracted students' special attention in detail, including the dormitory decoration and relocation, and the system update of selective and compulsory courses. Based on CWU's policies and situation, Liu responded to students' questions. 

Liu pointed out that the most important function of schools is to serve their students. CWU would coordinate resources and consider students' needs on the basis of equality. 

In the end, Liu gave advice to students on how to properly handle social issues which were caused by gender discrimination. She emphasized that CWU students should examine social issues from a gender perspective and change the public's old-fashioned perception of gender with their professional skills.

Liu affirmed students' constructive suggestions in improving the conditions of school operation, appreciated students' support and sense of ownership, and hoped that students will study hard, participate in social practices actively and become contributing members of society in the future.
