CWU Holds "Poetry of Life" Reading Activity
To mark the 21th World Reading Day, China Women's University (CWU) held an activity themed "Poetry of Life" on April 23.
Members of CWU's Reciting Center and "Shangmei" Reciting Art Group, as well as students from the Broadcasting and Hosting Department participated in the event.
Students recited several poems, including The Letter of Dream, Immortal Goddess, Streamlet and A Lane in the Rain.
Based on Beijing's regional media resources and teaching resources, CWU's Broadcasting and Hosting Department brought classics reading project into classroom teaching. To meet the demands of television and broadcast media firms towards professional talents in broadcasting and hosting, the department attached great importance to teaching practices.
It has held three reading activities consecutively, aiming to improve students' knowledge of arts, communication capacity, media communication skills and comprehensive quality.
Books are the crystallization of human wisdom and reading is important in promoting an individual's accomplishments and state of mind, improving students' quality and strength, and shaping a country's future, organizer said.
