CWU Honors Winners of Its 'Youth Medals'
To commemorate the 98th anniversary of China's May 4th Movement, China Women's University (CWU) held an awards ceremony for its outstanding units and individuals on May 4.
Liu Qinghua, deputy secretary of CWU Party Committee, attended the event and gave a lecture. Directors from CWU's Student Affairs Office (SAO), the Communist Youth League (CYL) Committee, and secretaries from different General Party Branches and General Youth League Branches participated in the meeting and gave awards to the elite units and individuals. Han Yan, director of the SAO and of the CYL Committee, presided over the event.
During the gathering, Han announced the CYL Committee's decisions on commending "Outstanding May 4th Youth League Branches in 2016", "Outstanding Youth League Cadres and Members", "Award-winning Teachers and Students in Arts Festivals", "CWU Winners in Capital's Entrepreneurship Contest for College Students", "Winners in Internet Plus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Beijing Division", and "Outstanding Volunteers, Voluntary Service Projects and Advanced Units". All the winners shared their experiences and communicated with each other during the event.
On behalf of CWU's Party Committee, Liu greeted all the teachers and students, and congratulated the winners of advanced units and individuals. While affirming the CYL members' great achievements in 2016, Li noted that all the participants should consistently develop their patriotism, study hard, put their knowledge into practice and persevere in serving the community.
The event aimed to review the university's achievements over the past year and carry forward the spirit of the May 4th Movement, including patriotism, progress, democracy and science.
The organizers called on participants to ensure the Party's unwavering core leadership and hold fast to their own positions, and urged the students to be bold trailblazers and contribute to the nation and the people.
