Teachers Get Fit at 'Keep Fit, Boost Evaluation Work' Walking Activity
To embrace the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China Women's University (CWU) held a walking activity for teachers on May 23. Liu Qinghua, deputy secretary of the CWU Party Committee, CWU Vice-Presidents Liu Meng and Wang Jingxia, and some 400 teachers took part in the event.
The activity was co-sponsored by CWU Trade Union and other functional departments, and aimed to further improve the overall health quality of teaching staff, protect teachers' rights in health, make them realize the importance of a healthy lifestyle and finish the evaluation of undergraduate education with a healthy body and full enthusiasm.
At the opening ceremony, Liu Qinghua emphasized the special meaning of the undergraduate education evaluation. It is an efficient measure to enhance the university's teaching level and helps to examine CWU's teaching work comprehensively. CWU must seize the historical opportunity of assessment to find out their deficiencies and take active countermeasures to improve the university's teaching quality, Liu added.
Wang Jingxia announced the activity's rules and gave a speech on the instructions for the event. When the activity started, all teachers set off under the guidance of their team leader. Everyone was enthusiastic and had fun. The whole process was full of joy, harmony, and the atmosphere was orderly. The teachers all successfully completed the walk in the allotted time.
Such activities have become a brand of the Trade Union, and set up a platform of communication for different departments and schools. It also improved teachers' awareness of keeping fit, alleviated their working pressure, and further enhanced the exchanges between the institutions.
