CWU School of Culture and Communication Makes Package of Deals with BNMG
Liu Liqun, President of China Women's University (CWU), led a group of students from the university's Cultural Industry Management Faculty to visit Beijing TV station, where they attended a teaching practice activity on Media and Women.
Lan Lin, vice president of Beijing News Company, and Yang Wenhua, director of the Human Resources Department, participated in the event, which was presided over by Jiang Hu, vice president of Beijing New Media Group (BNMG).
Attendees also included Zang Haiqun, dean of CWU's School of Culture and Communication; Zhang Jie, deputy secretary of the school's Party Committee; Qin Xiaoling, director of the school's Teaching and Research Office; and Huo Langbai, director of the Teaching and Research Office of CWU’s Broadcasting and Hosting Department.
The delegation visited the office of the new media center and watched two videos about the history and development of the center. Jiang further introduced the media group's status quo and primary services, hoping to cooperate with CWU in the future.
Afterwards, teachers attended a seminar and exchanged opinions with present students. Jiang introduced the restructuring and development of Beijing Radio and Television Network, and outlined the policies, practices, business operating models and resource utilization of the cultural industry management.
Moreover, Jiang laid out the development course from traditional media to new media, analyzed the traditional media's dilemma and responsibility as a content provider and shared his understanding of the pros and cons of the new media environment.
CWU President Liu Liqun combined new media with classroom teaching and put forward her opinions on the development of a new media center from the prospective of academic researchers and media practitioners. Liu also introduced CWU's talent cultivation goals and expressed her intention for cooperation.
The two sides discussed the construction of a practice base, the training of 'cloud' journalists and the specifics of live streaming activities. They finally reached a package of cooperative agreements and prepared to recruit and train 'cloud' journalists, as well as build a platform for female college students showing their talents.
The event marked the perfect ending of Media and Women course in the first half of 2017. It broadens students' horizons, deepens their cognition of new media, provides a vivid example for teaching practice and creates a striking landmark of new media and development of the School of Culture and Communication.
