ST. Cloud State Univ President Visits CWU
Ashish Vaidya, President of the ST. Cloud State University (SCSU), led a delegation to visit China Women's University (CWU) in June, and attended a seminar.
CWU Vice-President Wang Jingxia and directors from the Social Work Department and International Cooperation Department participated in the event.
Wang warmly welcomed the visitors, reviewed the two sides' long-evolved and well-established educational cooperation, and introduced CWU's history, management characteristics, curriculum arrangement, as well as its achievements in scientific research and international exchanges.
Vaidya shared SCSU's accomplishments and experiences in talent cultivation and developing women's leadership since 1869.
SCSU is one of the largest public universities in northwest Minnesota. Its undergraduate programs cover more than 200 majors, including Business, Education, Health and Human Services, Liberal Arts, Public Affairs, and Science and Engineering Faculty.
Its School of Graduate Studies offers more than 60 programs, including doctoral degrees in Higher Education Administration and Educational Administration and Leadership, as well as a Master of Business Administration.
The two universities had signed memorandum of cooperation in July 2014, and reached an agreement on exchange students in December the next year. SCSU students had visited CWU twice and learned about Chinese character-related culture. Some CWU students majoring in social work have successfully applied earlier to the SCSU and will study there for one year.
