CWU Holds Training Session for New Media Journalists

China Women's University (CWU) held its premier training course recently for the first batch of 'Cloud Journalists' who will produce live streaming or short video reports through an online editing platform.

The CWU's School of Culture and Communication invited Feng Liang, a host at 'Beijing Time' (a Beijing-based live streaming platform) to give a lecture to participants. Attendees also included Liang Kun, member of the Human Resources Department of Beijing New Media Group (BNMG); ZangHaiqun, dean of CWU's School of Culture and Communication; and Wei Jinmei, one of the project contacts.

Feng introduced the formal specification of the Beijing Time app. Combined with his rich experience in hosting and reporting, Feng taught students on-site reporting skills and gave several vivid examples which he was involved in.

Afterwards, Feng patiently answered students' questions and those present said they appreciated such a valuable chance for learning andbenefited a lot from the training session. They looked forward to working as interns of the BNMG in the future.

The School of Culture and Communication will make contracts with new media groups in the future, in order to meet the demand of talent cultivation and realize the seamless combination between its coursesand new media companies.

The event raised students' awareness of the timeliness of news and marked the beginning of the strategic cooperation of the two sides, organizers said.
