During the summer vacation, Guo Chunhong, director of the North Campus at China Women's University (CWU), led a delegation to northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to visit Sun Liuqing, a CWU counselor who served in a temporary position locally.

Zhao Chuan, secretary of Xinjiang Communist Youth League Committee; Qi Hu, an official who had come to Xinjiang from the Central Communist Youth League for aid purposes; and Miao Fei, director of the School of the Xinjiang Communist Youth League, warmly welcomed the visitors and made several speeches.

Since the Central Communist Youth League launched the project to send college teachers to hold temporary posts in Xinjiang, CWU has sent several batches of teachers to work there. Xinjiang leaders said CWU teachers had worked hard and promoted Xinjiang people's understanding about CWU.

Xinjiang officials spoke highly of Sun's working performance and thanked CWU for their financial aid project. CWU has donated a youth activity center and provided supporting facilities for Hotan County in Xinjiang.

During the seminar, Miao introduced the current situation of the area especially the achievements made this year. Sun also gave a summary report on her work.

Last year, Sun carefully studied relevant policy documents of the CPC Central Committee, refreshed her knowledge of the local communities and Youth League Committee, and adapted to the busy work quickly.

As an assistant minister of the School of the Xinjiang Communist Youth League, Sun was responsible for the establishment of the new media information platform. She stayed close to the grassroots to conduct research and learn the new situation of the local secondary school in southern Xinjiang.

Sun also participated in social practical activities during vacations, including introductory sessions for college students and bilingual teaching for primary school students in southern Xinjiang.

Sun was transferred to work at Xinjiang Women's Federation (XWF) from May to June this year and attended a series of activities concerning children's causes. Her outstanding work capacity and serious attitude was highly appreciated by the XWF's leaders. Sun was selected as an excellent youth cadre in July.

Guo sincerely thanked the School of the Communist Youth League for providing such a platform for teaching staff, Xinjiang Communist Youth League Committee for training the teachers and hoped to cooperate with Xinjiang in-depth in the future.

During the visit, Guo introduced the management characteristics of CWU and the basic situation of the university's moral education.

Local government officials praised the volunteers' efforts and achievements and said that they possessed solid professional knowledge, good mental capacity and were innovative. The local officials thanked CWU for its sympathy, generosity and devotion to public welfare and the construction of China's western regions.

The CWU leaders also investigated the market demands, volunteers' working and living conditions, and learned about national policies around voluntary service.

The teachers and students have already gained rich experiences, improved their abilities, fulfilled their own values and brought pride to the university, CWU's leaders said.
