CWU Becomes Talent Training Base for Belt and Road Initiative

 September 19, 2017

China Women's University (CWU) became one of the 26 higher institutes in Beijing, which were approved to be training bases for foreign students from countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

In line with the requirements of the education cooperation, Beijing Municipal Commission of Education (BMCE) initiated the talent cultivation project early this year and hoped to attract 900 postgraduates and post-doctoral fellows, as well as 1,800 high level researchers from relevant countries in the next three years.

The event aimed to develop the strategic contribution of Beijing's educational service and improve women's leadership in relevant countries' higher institutes.

CWU has always adhered to the spirit of cooperation, openness, inclusive growth and mutual benefit. It is committed to promoting gender equality and women's development, protecting women's rights and interests, and improving women's leadership in higher education institutions.

CWU will also make the most of its academic advantages and help to improve female cadres' management capacity in the developing countries.

The project will ultimately establish a women college presidents' consortium along the belt and road and build CWU as an international training base for high level female talents. Moreover, the university will leverage its academic characteristics, disseminate Chinese stories and solutions, as well as Chinese wisdom and the silk road spirit to the people of countries concerned.

CWU will also pay attention to curriculum construction and teacher training, hoping to improve the internationalization of talent cultivation, scientific research and social services.
