CWU Flag Group Win 1st Place in Honor Guard Contest
To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army, organizers held the eighth season of the honor guard competition among the capital's college students at Beijing University of Technology (BUT).
The event was co-organized by Beijing Association of Defense Education (BADE) and the BADE's Branch of National Flag in order to publicize China's 17th Nationwide National Defense Education Day and improve youth students' awareness of national defense. Students from 36 colleges and universities, including China Women's University (CWU), participated in the competition.
The competition exhibited the lowering and raising of a flag. A total of 16 CWU students participated in the competition and won first place. Their meticulous marching and clangorous slogans wowed judges and other participants.
The CWU's flag-raising team members have trained diligently since the group's establishment in 2013 and received unanimous recognition from other universities and communities. The group has previously won first prize in the 6th Honor Guard Competition in Beijing.
