CWU Holds Event for Enlisted Students
China Women's University (CWU) held a farewell meeting for enlisted students on September 22.
Members of the CWU's Defense Education Commission (DEC) and secretaries from general Party branches of different departments attended the meeting, which was presided over by Han Yan, head of the Armed Forces Department.
Attendees also included counselors, enlisted students and some representatives ofparents.
Bao Qinglin, member of the DEC, read out the enlistment notices. Those school leaders in attendance presented souvenirs and red flowers for the students.
On behalf of all enlisted students, a student from the School of Social Work expressed her heartfelt thanks to CWU and promised to train hard, study hard, obey orders, keep the CWU school motto in mind, and grow up to be a qualified soldier as soon as possible.
Relevant leaders congratulated students on their personal ambition and told them to get psyched up for army life, winning honors for CWU, their parents and themselves.
Sun Jianbei, vice-president of CWU, on behalf of all teachers and students, gave a sincere blessing and put forward her expectations to the enlisted students.
In this year's work of enlistment, more than 200 students signed up to join the military service, showing their enthusiasm for participation in the new national defense construction.
Through rounds of examinations, a total of 21 female students and three male students were selected to join the army.
