CWU President Liu Liqun Visits Impoverished Freshmen
Liu Liqun, president of China Women's University (CWU), visited some impoverished freshmen in the university's North Campus on October 10.
On behalf of all the school leaders, Liu asked detailed questions about the students' study and living conditions and family status, encouraged them to work hard and send down jackets to them.
Liu expressed her hopes that the students could pass on the university's ‘Love and Charity' spirit, deliver their love to others and contribute to society. Students replied that they would adjust to the campus life as soon as possible, cherish their college years, think and act boldly, live up to the cultivation and expectation of the university and be contributing members of society.
CWU has provided aid to those impoverished students since their enrollment and opened a "green path" for these freshmen during the registration. The school leaders asked relevant departments to help the poverty-stricken students' lives and study, provide a considerate service for them, as well as create a good learning environment for students.
The visit represented the university's philosophy of "All for students, for all the students and for the students' all-round development".
Participants also included Han Yan, director of CWU's Student Affairs Office and secretary of the university's Communist Youth League Committee, Guo Chunhong, dean of the North Campus, and Zhang Xiaoliang, deputy secretary of North Campus's General Party Branch.
