CWU Holds Meeting with Undergraduate Teaching Assessment Group

CWU held a meeting with the undergraduate teaching assessment group on November 20, 2017. More than 80 members of the expert group, all school leaders and middle-level cadres participated. Professor Shen Wenhuai, the expert group leader, presided over the meeting.

Li Mingshun, secretary of the Party committee of the school, made a speech to welcome the expert group of assessment and introduced the preparation work for the assessment. He stated that all CWU teachers and students will fully cooperate with the expert group to present comprehensively the school's undergraduate education work.

Liu Liqun, president of CWU, made a working report on the school's undergraduates education. She said that CWU as the only national women's college in China has special political significance and a unique educational position. She also introduced features of the school and difficulties they met in their development as a gender-based college.

CWU has been paying attention to undergraduate teaching, continuously strengthening personnel training and deepening the reform to construct a scientific teaching mechanism for the purpose of cultivating talents with public awareness, international vision and qualified and reliable Chinese socialist builders.

Professor Shen Wenhuai, leader of the expert group, gave explanations on the assessment work. He pointed out that assessment is an important starting point to promote the reform and development of colleges and universities. Participating in the assessment will be a major development opportunity for the school.

Shen stated that the assessment plan summarizes China's higher education assessment experience of the past over 20 years, and also has learned from the international development trend of higher education evaluation, making an evaluation model with Chinese characteristics. He stressed that the expert group will respect standards, follow the norms, and evaluate CWU objectively and impartially.

The assessment expert group consists of seven experts from five provinces (municipalities). In the four days after the meeting, they will conduct a comprehensive assessment of CWU's undergraduate teaching through lectures, reports, in-depth interviews, field visits, documents and other ways.
