CWU Carries Out Safety Education and Fire Drill for Freshmen
To enhance freshmen's safety awareness and improve their emergency response and self-protection capabilities, China Women's University (CWU) carried out security education and a fire drill on September 22 at the military training base.
Chen Xiaodong, a teacher from Beijing Drug Control Center, made a special speech on drug control. Yang Xiaofeng, director of CWU's Security Department, mobilized students to attend an online course of safety education and fire drills.
Some 1,601 freshmen and undergraduates took part in the training, learned how to use the extinguishers and the right way to escape. The drill adopted the new fire extinguisher training system and smoke escape tent for the first time. It lasted more than 2 hours.
Students said the event enhanced their safety awareness, helped them master the basic knowledge of emergency escape, improved their ability to protect themselves and laid a solid foundation for their safety on campus.
