CWU Volunteers Serve the 19th CPC National Congress
The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held from October 18-24. China Women's University (CWU) selected 45 outstanding volunteers to serve the event from October 13-26.
CWU volunteers were responsible for the service work at Jianguomen Street in Dongcheng District of Beijing.
During the 14-day service, volunteers arrived early at the voluntary positions everyday. With the help of the staff from Jianguomen Street Office, CWU volunteers quickly got acquainted with the street and provided guidance for the pedestrians and tourists.
With a strong sense of responsibility, CWU volunteers held fast to their own positions, patiently answered people's questions and actively publicized safety knowledge to improve people's security awareness.
In addition, the volunteers laid emphasis on public security inspections, carefully implemented sweeping checks of hidden dangers and finished the voluntary work meticulously. The volunteers' performance was well received by other staff.
"I was deeply impressed by the uniformity of CWU volunteers. All volunteers wearing blue suits. Voluntary work is sacred and solemn. As a member of the group, I am very proud to serve our country," a CWU volunteer said.
In the future, CWU students will continue to join hands to take part in volunteer activities caring for others, society and nature vigorously, CWU leader said.
