CWU Holds Faculty Meeting for New Semester

China Women's University (CWU) held a meeting for faculty members at the campus' lecture hall on September 19.

On behalf of the school's leadership team, Liu Liqun, president of CWU, sent her warm greetings to faculty members and expressed her sincere thanks to all teachers who stuck to their posts during the summer vacation.

At the conference, Liu analyzed the current status of CWU reform and development, and made a general review of the school's overall status in the first half of the year, as well as work in the summer vacation.

Liu also deployed the key work for the next step. She asked all faculty members to fully learn and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), taking it as the core political task; speed up the school's development during the 13th five-year plan period; and prepare well for the upcoming inspection of undergraduate teaching evaluation group.

She pointed out that the value of the women's university is to strengthen women's consciousness of independence and their ability, helping them fully participate in social activities and get access to social resources, so as to realize equality between men and women.

With its unique political, international and historical advantages, CWU will become a place to implement the educational policy of the Party, a cradle of cultivating outstanding female talents and a think-tank serving women and children's cause, as well as a window showing Chinese women's development achievements.

Li Mingshun, secretary of CWU Party Committee, also gave a speech at the conference.

Li summarized the work plan for the next half of the year and urged all faculty members to welcome the convening of the 19th CPC National Congress and fully learn and implement the spirit of the congress, taking it as their main political work for the next step.

Li also conveyed the speech spirit of Zhang Xiaolan, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), at a meeting of the nationwide reform inspections. He also put forward some requirements for the school based on the speech spirit.

Moreover, Li  expected all teaching staff to further strengthen their ideological and political studies so as to create a new situation for the school's related education work based on the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping, as well as the spirit of the national conference on ideological and political work.

In addition, outstanding teachers got awarded during the conference.
