【二审中】Implementing the Spirit of 19th CPC National Congress and Inheriting Traditional Chinese Culture

 December 29, 2017

The Communist Youth League Committee of China Women's University (CWU) recently organized an activity for teachers aged below 35 to get closer access to the sinology, in response to President Xi Jinping's call of caring for young people.

The activity was also designed to further implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and inherit traditional Chinese culture.

Nearly 40 CWU faculty members visited the headquarters of Beijing Tongrentang, a famous Chinese pharmaceutical company founded in 1669, as well as the largest producer of traditional Chinese medicine.

Under the guidance of the secretary of the youth league general branch of the shop, the young teachers gained a better understanding of traditional Chinese medicine, and were also deeply impressed by the Chinese culture and dedicated working style of Tongrentang staff.

On the same day, the faculty also visited China Soong Ching Ling Youth Activity Center. Teachers learned traditional handmade ceramic making and knead carving decoration, and also learned about the development and use of mortise and tenon joint wooden structure. At the center, they also made mortise and tenon works by themselves.

Participants said that the activity not only cultivated their tastes and improved their quality, but also strengthened their ideals that better serve the cause of the Party and people, as well as their beliefs, all of which made great contributions to their educational careers.

At present, teachers aged below 35 account for one third of the total faculty at CWU.
