CWU President Meets Delegates of Shenzhen Mingde
Liu Liqun, president of China Women's University (CWU), warmly received a delegation from Shenzhen Yixian Mingde Cultural Development Co., Ltd. on December 19 and presided over a seminar on female audiences' satisfaction in Chinese film.
Dean and deputy secretary of CWU's School of Culture and Communication, relevant teachers from the ‘Media and Women' research center of the Communication University of China and teachers from CWU's ‘Communication and Women' research center participated in the meeting.
The survey of women audiences' satisfaction for Chinese movies was initiated during the 8th International New Media Short Film Festival which was held on December 2 in Shenzhen, S China's Guangdong Province.
Liu and other participants pressed the start button of the survey at the closing ceremony of the short film festival. UNESCO Media and Women's Chairs will conduct the survey as one of the cooperative units. The organizers will collect female spectators' opinions on movies, incorporate women's development status into images and films, promote the cultivation of gender equality consciousness, motivate the development of Chinese film industry and promote cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
The International New Media Short Film Festival was funded in 2010 and co-sponsored by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. It is the only national-level and international short film festival in China at present.
The Short Film Festival has become an internationally recognized short film festival unanimously approved by both domestic and foreign industries since 2010. Along with Beijing Film Festival and Shanghai Film Festival, it has been listed as one of the three major international film and television cultural festivals in China.
