CWU Wins 'Best Operator, Organizer' in Large-Scale Volunteer Service
The 9th Happiness Plan, Happy Vocation volunteer campaign was launched at the Science Hall of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. The event was co-sponsored by Beijing Yuanwang Foundation; Beijing Charity Foundation; China Children and Teenagers’ Fund; over 50 colleges and universities in Beijing; and more than 10 Communist Youth Leagues at different levels.
At the ceremony, organizers recognized 60 outstanding organizations and ten excellent volunteers from the 8th campaign. China Women's University (CWU) came second among the 60 organizations, and received the title of Best Operator and Organizer.
Some 42 CWU volunteers have been designated as Happiness Emissaries as part of the 9th campaign. They will show compassion in their hometowns and deliver new clothes, new schoolbags and new stationary to impoverished children, helping youngsters to achieve their dreams and paint a colorful future.
On behalf of people from all walks of life, CWU volunteers will continue to deliver help to the targeted children so that they can grow up healthily, and enjoy a happy education full of love and warmth, said officials.
