CWU Holds Gathering about Counselors' Work

 April 25, 2018

China Women's University (CWU) organized its newly recruited staff members to share their experiences and insights from their daily work as counselors at a meeting on March 20.

Han Yan, Director of the Student Affairs Department at CWU, presided over the gathering.

Han reviewed and praised their performances as counselors since their accession.

The counselors talked about their experiences in the adjustment to a fresh environment and the fulfillment of their daily tasks at CWU.

In addition, they also voiced opinions and suggestions for further improvement of their future work.

Han replied that the Student Affairs Department would work closely with other departments to come up with concrete measures to assist them in their future work and create a better environment for students' growth.

The gathering aimed to further implement President Xi Jinping's keynote speech at a national conference on ideological and political work in China's universities and colleges in Beijing in December 2016.

At the event, Xi urged college teachers to be "disseminators of advanced ideology and culture" and "staunch supporters of governance by the Party" in a move to better guide students' growth on campus.

So far, a total of 17 teachers have been designated as counselors since CWU rolled out the practice three years ago.
