CWU Hosts Training Session for Female Officials from Developing Countries

China Women's University (CWU) launched an opening ceremony for the Seminar on Social Management Capability Building for Female Officials from Developing Countries, on April 11.

The 15-day seminar, which had received great support from the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) from the Ministry of Commerce, drew the attendance of 28 female officials from Uganda, Ghana, Palestine, South Sudan, Lebanon, Iraq, Grenada and Uzbekistan.

During her address at the opening ceremony, Song Wenyan, Deputy Director-General of Liaison Department from the ACWF, congratulated the organizers of the seminar for its successful opening and extended a warm welcome to foreign trainees for their participation.

She said that the Chinese government has attached great importance to constantly improving friendly ties and strengthening multilateral cooperation with other developing countries strategically over the past decades.

The training session has become a key platform for women from China and other developing countries to facilitate their exchanges and collaborations in many aspects, and injected fresh vigor and vitality into China's partnership with them, Song continued in her speech.

She asked participants to convey their best greetings and wishes on behalf of the ACWF to their peers back at home.

CWU Vice-President Wang Jingxia introduced CWU's history, mission, curricular activities, progress in the research of women and gender-oriented topics, and international exchange projects.

She hoped that they could have a thorough debate over the cultivation of women's abilities in social management, deepen exchanges and cooperation in the promotion of gender equality, and strive for higher achievements in the enlargement of women's access to education and personal growth in their own nations.

Mkaai Nada, an attendee from Lebanon, believed that the seminar would help her and other participants find a better solution to increasing their relevant skills and competences.
