CWU Holds Fitness-promotion Activity

The Trade Union of China Women's University (CWU) organized a special walking and fitness-promotion activity for teachers on May 8.
The event aimed to better implement the State Council's National Fitness Program (2016-2020), act on guidelines about the constant improvement of all employees' physical health released by Beijing Federation of Trade Unions, and further enhance the comprehensive health of CWU faculty members.
It drew the attendance of Li Mingshun, secretary of the CWU Party Committee; Liu Meng, Wang Jingxia, Wang Lian and Sun Jianbei, vice-presidents of the university; Zhao Hao, member of the Standing Committee of the CWU Party Committee; and, over 400 teachers.
During the opening ceremony, Wang Jingxia noted that the year 2018 marks the first year of fully implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which outlines China's desired development blueprint over the next three decades, and is the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up policy.
As this year is also of great importance for the university to carry out the 13th Five-Year Plan and push forwards with the preparations for upcoming appraisal and evaluation of its academic programs for undergraduates, Wang urged all faculty members to closely follow the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
She also urged staff to commit themselves with full energy to academic studies, work and their own lives in a move to build the university into one of top women-oriented educational institutions in the country.
Zhao Yanping, executive vice-chairperson of the CWU Trade Union, presided over the opening ceremony, read a list of tips and suggestions for attendees' physical safety, and extended a welcome as well as thanks to all participants for their attendance.
After that, Li headed his colleagues to jointly complete the walking activity.
