CWU Student Featured on Beijing Conscription Poster

A former soldier and student of China Women's University (CWU) is currently featuring in a conscription campaign for Beijing Municipal Conscription Office.

Zhang Jinghao, who is a student at the CWU School of Culture and Communication, temporarily suspended his academic studies in 2014 to become a soldier in the Second Artillery Force or the Rocket Force affiliated to the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

Zhang had received several awards and titles for his outstanding performance in terms of military training and theoretical studies.

Thanks to strong military competence, Zhang was chosen to join the grand military parade in Beijing on September 3, 2015 to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

After the end of his military career, Zhang actively took part in various extracurricular activities on the campus in a drive to be an outstanding college student.

In addition, he was even invited to appear in Wolf Warrior 2, one of the top-grossing movies in China, and TV programs on China Central Television (CCTV) and Jiangsu Satellite TV.

Meanwhile, he also claimed many scholarships and awards for his sound performance in both academic studies and other aspects.

So far, the CWU has received many awards and honors such as the Outstanding Conscription Unit in Beijing and Outstanding Contributor to National Defense Education amongst Beijing-based Universities over the past few years.

Statistics show that nearly 200 CWU students have been enlisted and currently serve in PLA posts across the country.
