China Women's University (CWU) organized a symposium on campus on June 26 to help its faculty members and students learn more about the importance of national security.
The university invited a professor from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of State Security to give a report at the gathering.
Li Mingshun, secretary of the CWU Party Committee, presided over the event.
He said the university should act on President Xi Jinping's instructions on following a holistic approach to national security; use it to guide the CWU's relevant work; and, strengthen the consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity.
The university should also think in big-picture terms, uphold the leadership core and remain in alignment.
Moreover, the university is expected to raise national security awareness; keep a high vigilance against any threats to national security in its everyday work; and, strengthen cyber security awareness.
The institution should also integrate the protection of national security into its online publicity; increase personal awareness of confidentiality; and, contribute more to the construction of defense lines.
Those present at the symposium included mid-level officials, the secretary of the Faculty Members Party Branch, and employees in charge of security from all departments and schools.
