CWU Concludes Congress of Faculty, Trade Union Members

China Women's University (CWU) officially concluded the 3rd Congress of Faculty and Trade Union Members on July 17.
Ren Cuiru, deputy secretary of the CWU Party Committee and secretary of the CWU Commission for Discipline Inspection, presided over the closing ceremony.
During the one-day conference, delegates listened to the work report of the university, the second congress, deliberated the report on the university's expenses and its trade union, talked about the proposed name-list of the executive committee of the faculty congress, and discussed the trade union's council and its examination committee's expenses.
They also passed amendments to the Regulation on the CWU Trade Union's Work and the Rules for the CWU Faculty Congress.
During their panel discussions, delegates put forward constructive proposals on the reform of talent cultivation, academic research, the building of teaching staff, and the improvement of the campus environment.
Moreover, the conventions elected Ren and 14 other delegates as members of the executive committee of the third faculty congress, Ren and 10 other delegates as members of the third council trade union, and three other delegates as members of the trade union's expense examination committee.
Li Mingshun, secretary of the CWU Party Committee, said in his speech that the university should uphold the great banner of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, strengthen the Party building and leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), firmly grasp new opportunities of ongoing reform and development, and press ahead with the task of developing itself into a prestigious higher educational institution reserved for women in a move to carry out the spirit of the two conventions.
Li called on the staff to make a closer implementation of the instructions made by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) concerning the fulfillment of their missions and the enhancement of their personal competence, and to strive for building the CWU as one of the top universities for women.
