CWU Holds Training Session for the key Faculty Members Without Affiliation to the CPC in Yan'an

A delegation of 38 teachers from China Women's University (CWU) attended a training session for the key faculty members without affiliation to the CPC, which was held in Yan'an, a city in northwest China's Shaanxi Province and the former headquarter of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), from July 18 to 22.
Co-sponsored by the Organization Department of the CWU Party Committee and the university's Development Center for the Cultivation of Teachers' Competence, the training event aimed to better study and act on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, make full use of the wisdom and strength of the teachers outside the Party, and promote the development of the university in all aspects.
It drew the attendance of teaching staff from the democratic parties, the CPC and along with those without Party affiliation.
Xu Changyu, a professor from Yan'an University, lectured trainees on the Spirit of Yan'an, which emphasizes several qualities, including sticking to the right political direction, liberating thoughts, seeking the truth, self-reliance and serving the people wholeheartedly, from a historical perspective.
Moreover, several lecturers from the Party School of Yan'an CPC Municipal Committee talked with attendees about the stories between Chairman Mao Zedong (1893-1976) and his oldest son, the development of the former China Women's College, which was later incorporated into Yan'an University, and the ties between the CPC and locals during the Yan'an period.
In addition, the delegation also toured former revolutionary sites and listened to the life stories of the revolutionists of the old generation in Yan'an.
