CWU Students Provide Volunteering Services in Chairman Mao Memorial Hall

Some 46 volunteers from China Women's University (CWU) gave their volunteering services in the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall in Beijing from August 18 to September 1.

Those volunteers were selected from hundred contestants as they were found to excel in their political beliefs, language and managerial skills, and emergency response.

They spent some time on August 16 familiarizing themselves with their individual positions, which ranged from regular patrols to the guidance in presenting flowers to the remains of Chairman Mao, the assistance to elderly visitors and people with disabilities, and the reservation of group tickets.

After a handover ceremony on August 18, they officially began their work, which meant that they had to get up at 4:30 and start work at 6:30 in the early morning.

During the half-month-long servicing program, Guo Chunhong, executive director of CWU northern campus; Chen Lijun, vice-director of the Student Affairs Office; and Wang Jing, a student counselor, paid their visits to the student volunteers and encouraged them to stick to their positions and present a positive image of the university.
