On October 9, China Women's University (CWU) held a meeting to help its members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and cadres learn more about the recently revised regulations regarding sanctions for those who violate the Party code of conduct.
The gathering was held under the requirements of the Working Committee for Central and State Organs and the Leading Party Group of the All-China Women's Federation. It aimed to better implement an instruction made by President Xi Jinping to a national conference about political building in the central and state organs held in Beijing this July, act on the spirit of the high-level meeting, and make an arrangement of the university's relevant work.
Ren Cuiru, deputy secretary of the CWU Party Committee and secretary of the CWU Commission for Discipline Inspection, presided over the meeting.
A professor from the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC lectured attendees on the importance of the latest revisions of the regulations and about how to better observe these disciplinary rules in their daily lives.
Li Mingshun, secretary of the CWU Party Committee, briefed participants about President Xi's instructions to the national conference, the convention's key points and the speech made by Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Working Committee for Central and State Organs, at the event.
Moreover, Li read a list of five cases which had taken place at the university since the 18th CPC National Congress in November 2012 and were in violation of the Party code of conduct.
He called on the university to make a closer implementation of the national conference's spirit and the latest regulations, hold various themed educational activities, strengthen its political and institutional building, and conduct an assessment of the measures taken by different departments and schools to rectify their misconduct.
Those in attendance at the event included other senior officials, members of the Party Committee and the Commission for Discipline Inspection of CWU, cadres and faculty members.
