A 30-member delegation from China Women's University (CWU) attended a training session in the city of Yan'an, a former revolutionary base and popular destination of "Red Tourism" in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, on October 12-14.
Co-hosted by the Organization Department at CWU and the Party School of the Yan'an Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the three-day event aimed to further implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress.
Moreover, the themed gathering was also held to help grassroots Party members learn more about revolutionary traditions and renew their commitment to the spirit of Yan'an, which emphasizes several qualities, including sticking to the right political direction, liberating thoughts, seeking the truth, self-reliance and serving the people wholeheartedly.
Lü Haichao, vice-president of the Party School of the Yan'an CPC Municipal Committee, delivered a welcome speech and presented a banner to the CWU delegation at the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the opening, Li Mingshun, secretary of the CWU Party Committee, emphasized that the delegation cannot equate their themed training event to a sightseeing tour in the former key revolutionary base.
More specially, they should hold a respectful heart to learn more about the formation of Mao Zedong Thought and Yan'an Spirit, relate their visit to the dedications and sacrifices observed by former Party and state leaders, which include Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Zhu De, to the success of China's revolution and the building of new China, and refresh their original aspirations to fight for national rejuvenation and the happiness of the Chinese people as a whole.
During their stay in Yan'an, the delegation also toured local revolutionary sites, listened to an introduction of revolutionary traditions, and refreshed their admission oath to the Party.
