Delegates of St. Cloud State Uni Visit CWU for Further Cooperation

A four-person delegation from St. Cloud State University in the U.S. visited China Women's University (CWU) on October 30.
The U.S. delegation included Robbyn Wavker, president of St. Cloud State University; Shahzad Ahmad, assistant vice-president of St. Cloud State University; Kathy Johnson, dean of the Confucius Institute at St. Cloud State University; and Amy Knopf, a mental health professor at St. Cloud State University.
Along with staff from the School of Social Work and the Department of International Cooperation, CWU vice-president Wang Lian held a meeting with them.
Wang extended a warm welcome to them. She gave an introduction of her university's history, the arrangement of disciplines, academic programs and research, and international exchanges, and reviewed the development of the two universities' cooperation over the past few years.
The two universities inked a memorandum of cooperation and an agreement on a student exchange program separately in July 2013 and December 2014.
St. Cloud State University has organized its students twice to visit the CWU and learned Chinese characters in a week-long program. Meanwhile, students majoring in social work at the CWU can apply for a year-long exchange program at St. Cloud State University.
Wavker talked about her university's achievements and experiences in talent cultivation, the development of women's leadership, psychological counseling and social work. She also expressed a willingness to consolidate and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the future.
Moreover, the two sides held discussions and reached agreements on the organization of student exchange programs, joint cultivation of graduate students, the invitation of professors from St. Cloud State University to open their classes at CWU, and academic research as well as exchanges.
