Opening Ceremony of Excellent Woman Talent Training Program Held

On March 5, the opening ceremony of the Excellent woman Talent Training program of the Yuhui College, under China Women's University, was held at the multi-functional hall of the school's sports building.

Liu Liqun attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Zhang Xiuqin, former ambassador to the United Nations educational, scientific and cultural organization (UNESCO) also attended the ceremony.

The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Wang Lian.

The first 30 students of the program were selected from more than 1,200 undergraduates.

In Liu's speech, she congratulated the students and advised them to cherish their time, keep forging ahead, be grateful to society and give back to the country. At the same time, she said that the program should absorb and draw lessons from the experience of women's higher education in developed countries, with the goal of building world-class women's higher education and training world-class women talents.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Chen Wei introduced the training objectives, methods and curriculum system of the college. Chen encouraged the students to participate in academic research and innovation and entrepreneurial competition.

Cao Hongyu from the department of finance made a speech on behalf of all the students of Yuhui College. She said that as a first-year college student, she will cherish the precious learning opportunities and strive to improve her quality in a comprehensive way.

After the opening ceremony, the former ambassador of UNESCO spoke to the students of Yuhui College in a speech entitled Into UNESCO.

Zhang Xiuqin used her personal work experience as an entry point to introduce the challenges and risks that China faces in international organizations to the students.

Zhang had an in-depth interaction with the students and answered their questions. She introduced the increasing demand of the United Nations for top talents, and encouraged young students to set goals, cherish opportunities and develop their talents so as to step onto the world stage in their full capacity.
