CWU Teachers Attend Training on Family Education in Huai'an

The delegation visits the former residence of the late Chinese premier Zhou Enlai in Huai'an.[China Women's University]

A delegation led by Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party committee of the China Women's University (CWU), and Professor Sun Xiaomei attended a training program in Huai'an, East China's Jiangsu Province, on Jan 12-18.

The delegation, consisting of more than 10 teachers from the CWU, took part in a week-long training program on family education provided by the city's Women and Children's Activity Center.

The center hosted various activities. The program began with a tour to the former school, residence and a memorial hall of the late Chinese premier Zhou Enlai.

Huai'an is the hometown of Zhou Enlai and the birthplace of famous historical figures such as Han Xin and Wu Cheng'en. It is lauded as a national famous historical and cultural city, a national sanitary city, a national garden city, a national model city of environmental protection and the "Canal Capital of China."

Li Shunying, President of the Women's Federation of Huai'an City, presided over the opening of the training program on Jan 14. It was also the city's first public lecture for women in 2019.

Li Mingshun gave a keynote speech on Guiding the Family Construction with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in China at the opening ceremony, which was attended by about 300 workers of the women's federations in Huai'an, family educator and female volunteers.

In his speech, Li also summarized President Xi Jinping's important remarks concerning topics such as the family's role and functions and the relationship between family and country.

At a symposium held in that afternoon, CWU teachers learned about the development of the city's women's federation, the construction of family civilization and the family education guidance introduced by Ding Wei, Vice-President of the city's women's federation.
