Ahead of the National Day holiday, Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Women's University (CWU), and Liu Liqun, President of the CWU, paid a visit to Ge Lan in her office on the university's campus.

Ge, a former announcer with China National Radio and an alumna of the CWU, was presented with a medal in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) in Beijing on September 12.

Li and Liu asked Ge about her work and life, sent flowers to her, and expressed their appreciation and greetings to her.

They also conveyed thanks to Ge for her dedication to the establishment and development of the CWU's discipline of announcing and anchoring, and for her remarkable contributions to the cultivation of relevant students since her return to the university after retirement 19 years ago.

In addition, they hoped that Ge would consistently support the university's development, take the lead in organizing the Ge Lan Reading and Recitation Cultural Festival and the reciting class of classical Chinese literature, based on the work office named after Ge, and contribute more effort to the university's future growth.

For her part, Ge showed them her commemorative medal and pledged that she would cherish the honor, give full play to her talent, nurture more professional personnel majoring in announcing and anchoring, and strive for more contributions to the university as well as the country.

Leaders of the School of Culture and Communication of the CWU participated in the event.
