CWU Holds Education Campaign Themed 'Staying True to Our Founding Mission'

The study session of the education campaign with the theme of "Staying True to Our Founding Mission" was held by China Women's University (CWU) on September 28-30.

Focusing on the theme of "Understanding the Founding Mission, Enhancing the Party's Consciousness, and Strengthening Ideals and Beliefs," the theory-learning group of the Party Committee of the CWU conducted intensive collective study and self-study on Xi Jinping's Important Statements on Staying True to Our Founding Mission (selected), and the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era Study Compendium.

The learning materials also include General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches on the education work conference of "Staying True to Our Founding Mission," the 15th Collective Learning of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, the Party Construction Work Meeting of the Central and State Organs, and inspection and guidance in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on themed educational activities.

The group studied Xi Jinping's Excerpts on the Work of Women, Children and Women's Federations, Xi Jinping's Important Exposition on Education, as well as General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on higher education, women and women's work.

By reading the original work and text, understanding the principle and digging into the required readings, beliefs and missions will be strengthened under the guidance of the theory.

At the thematic study meeting, Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CWU, talked about his own learning experience with the theme of "remaining true to our original aspiration."

"Keeping the original aspiration and carrying the mission is to firm up beliefs, further strengthen the ideals and stick to our founding missions," Li noted.

"We should take the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the primary task, and study and implement the decision-making and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on education, women's work and women's federations as major political responsibilities," he stated.

"We should fully understand the core essentials, accurately grasp the practical requirements, continuously improve the political position, further develop the consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment, and foster stronger confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and uphold the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee," Li added.

He emphasized that it's necessary to remember and strengthen the purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, to serve women and their development, and to serve the teachers and students; to consciously uphold the leadership of the CPC and bear in mind that the leadership of the CPC is the fundamental guarantee for women's development of socialism with Chinese characteristics; to encourage Party members and cadres to emulate others better than themselves, to remember the original aspiration, to take responsibility in their posts, and to contribute to the women's development and the work of the women's federations.

Li noted that only by steadfastly strengthening the ideals and convictions of Communists in their aspirations and inspiring a high spirit in their missions can they help to carefully examine the gaps for self-revolution, become strong in their implementation, and have an inner motivation for rectification.

"We should use Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to guide the practice, and combine the characteristics of women's higher education with the features of the women's federations to better serve the Party's work,"said Liu Liqun, President of the CWU, during the session.

Wang Jingxia, Vice-President of the CWU, delivered a keynote speech entitled "To Be Armed with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to Direct Practical Work and Push It Forward".

Wang Lian, Vice-President of the CWU, Zhao Hao, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the CWU, and Ren Cuiru, Deputy Secretary of the  Party Committee of the CWU, discussed their own learning experiences in terms of strengthening the Party's political construction, enhancing organizational discipline, ideological work, and women and children's development.

The three-day thematic study on "Staying True to Our Founding Mission" ended with focused collective study and heated discussion. All the participants agreed that they have a deeper understanding of the theory through studying and comprehending the original aspiration and strengthening ideals and beliefs. The thematic study will play a leading role in promoting the university to offer deeper and even more practical education.
