CWU Holds Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony

China Women's University (CWU) held a scholarship awards ceremony for the the school year of 2018-2019, on November 19.

Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CWU, Liu Liqun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the CWU, Wang Lian, Vice President of the CWU, and Zhao Hao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CWU's Party Committee, attended the ceremony. Ren Cuiru, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of the CWU, presided over the event.

Wang Qingshu, former Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and former President of the China Women Cadre Administration College, social scholarship sponsors, and the representatives of the award units were invited to attend the ceremony, and they awarded honorary certificates to students.

Around 2,500 outstanding students and advanced classes received scholarships and honorary titles.

As part of the education campaign with the theme of "Staying True to Our Founding Mission," this year's scholarship selection and commendation activity selected advanced models, which greatly inspired and educated all students.

A special guest attending the awards ceremony was the founder of the Nanbo Scholarship, who donated a total of one million yuan (US $142,003), to the CWU at the 70th anniversary of the founding of the university. The scholarship rewards female students with excellent academic performances.

In his speech, Li said in the 70 years since its founding, the CWU has always adhered to its original inspiration and mission, striving to nurture capable young people well-prepared to join the socialist cause, and comprehensively fostered the students' all-round moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic grounding with a hard-working spirit.
