CWU Leader Gives Lecture on Family Education, Tradition

Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party committee of the China Women's University (CWU) and Dean of the Institute of Family Building of the CWU, made a report about studying the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on family and family education and tradition and promoting good family education and tradition via video link during an activity held by the school library on July 7 to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

During his speech, Li reviewed Xi's instructions on family and family education and tradition, and shared his thoughts on the status and functions of the family, relationship between family and the nation, the value of family virtues, functions of good family traditions, family education, highlights of family building and other topics about family building.

Li emphasized the importance of family building, family education and tradition by outlining the family's current social role and problems related to marriage and family.

Referencing the Civil Code and its provisions on marriage and family, Li made clear the relationship between the families and the country. He underlined the significance of family education for the individuals, country and society.

After making the report, Li discussed with the participants about how to integrate family education with reader services in the school library and include family-related resources into library document collections.

Staff members and retired CPC members of the CWU's library attended the video conference.
