CWU Holds the Sixth Seminar on the Discipline of Family

The Sixth Seminar on the Discipline of Family and the Forum on Family Building opens at China Women's University & ACWF Executive Leadership Academy on November 21, 2021.

China Women's University & ACWF Executive Leadership Academy (CWU), China Family Education Society and Beijing Society of Women's Theory jointly held the Sixth Seminar on the Discipline of Family and the Forum on Family Building both online and offline on November 21, 2021.

Nearly 300 people, including officials responsible for family and children's work from central authorities and women's federations at all levels, experts and scholars in the field of family, family education and family traditions from universities and research institutes, principals and teachers responsible for family education work from elementary and secondary schools, heads of social organizations that offer various domestic services and communities workers, participated in the meeting.

Zhou Yingjiang, Vice-President of the CWU, said in his speech that ever since its establishment in 2018, the Academy of Family Building under the CWU has proactively taken part in the formulation, assessment and research of major policies such as national programs for women and children's development and national plan for family education guidance.

Zhou said that the academy will focus on new requirements and expectations for and new conditions and problems of family building, incorporate theoretical achievements of the discipline of family with actual work, carry out research on the discipline of family and provide professional guidance in relevant field.

During the meeting, 18 experts, scholars and officials held in-depth discussions over a wide range of topics, covering construction of the discipline of family, the law on family education promotion, the mechanism of school-family-community cooperative education, the three-child policy, and the importance of family, family education and family traditions to social governance at the primary level.

Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party committee of the CWU, delivered a speech on the construction of the discipline of family at the meeting.

Sun Xiaomei, executive director of the Academy of Family Building under the CWU, speaks during the meeting. Sun introduced the academy's series courses on family building, family life and parenting, which will provide theoretical guidance and promote the role of family, family education and family traditions in social governance at the primary level.
