Over 100 women volunteers from Shatian Town, Dongguan City, South China's Guangdong Province, have been working to bring daily necessities and provided any help to quarantined families in 26 residential areas of the town's 18 villages and communities.
With the help of the volunteers, the families with family members who have returned from Hubei Province, where the novel coronavirus outbreak originated, could stay at home free from worries about basic living needs.
Each volunteer provides services to three households, offering them protective equipment and disinfection supplies, monitoring their body temperatures by telephone or WeChat regularly, and providing them with daily necessities.
A woman surnamed Wang who returned from Hubei said she is so grateful for the volunteers who help her buy what her family needs and collect their garbage every day.
"We are grateful for the efforts made by the local government and community. During this period, as long as we understand and cooperate with each other, I believe that with concerted efforts we will win (the fight against the epidemic) soon," she added.
