GUIYANG, July 18 (Xinhua) — The Yangxi Opera, a derivative of Nuoxi Drama, or masked histrionic show, has a long tradition that is afferent from eastern China and dates back to the Hongwu Reign (1368-1399) of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The opera captivates with its authentic singing, familiar plots, and exquisite masks and costumes, showcasing its ancient charm and unique flavor. In 2021, Yangxi Opera of Guizhou was listed as one of the fifth batch of the national intangible cultural heritages.
