The third National Conference on Reading was held from April 23 to 25, in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan Province. The conference featured a series of events, including reading-promotion campaigns and themed releases, to cultivate reading habits across society.
The family parent-child reading forum, part of the conference, was held on April 23. Participating experts and scholars provided professional guidance for family parent-child reading, and called for volunteers to join the parent-child reading guidance service team.
The All-China Women's Federation launched a program aimed at promoting parent-child reading during the forum. The program will establish parent-child reading bases, train parent-child reading instructors, and conduct parent-child reading activities that target in-need children and their families.
Since 2016, women's federations, at all levels, have organized 1.05 million parent-child reading activities, which have attracted the participation of more than 300 million children and their parents.
