Xia Hua, chairperson of Eve Group, has dedicated 20 years to reviving China's ethnic crafts.
Starting as a saleswoman, the university teacher-turned entreprenuer now empowers over 25,000 rural embroiderers to have a better life by bridging the ancient craftsmanship with global trends. Through digitalization, IP creation, and platforms like the Remote Mountain Bazaar, she transforms traditional patterns into modern products sold worldwide, with local artisans like Grandma Pan earning over 1.8 million yuan annually.
As a deputy to the National People's Congress, Xia champions cultural innovation as key to global influence. "Ethnic culture must innovate to thrive," she says, proving that tradition, when woven with passion, can open doors to the world.
