CPC Names 11 Women on Draft List Honoring 100 Role Models of Reform, Opening-up

Li Guyi, a CPC member and China Democratic League member, was born in the city of Changsha in central China's Hunan Province, in October 1944.

Li was the Party chief and the first deputy head of former China Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble, which was incorporated along with China National Song and Dance Ensemble into China Oriental Performing Arts Group in 2005.

Li has used her inspiring songs to praise the glorious achievements made by Chinese people and convey her patriotism as well as the voices of the public over the past four decades.

Li has created many memorial songs and many of them have enjoyed great popularity amongst the public till now. For instance, her song Love for Hometown has been regarded as the first best-selling pop song in China after the reform and opening-up initiative.

During her career time, Li has put an effort in the succession and innovative promotion of Chinese folk vocal music and greatly contributed to the development of China's music.
